I have created my memberships and entered names into the member screen. How to assign a membership to a member.
Solution
Once you have created your Memberships and entered basic Member information, you must "sell" each member a membership. By doing so, you define important information like membership start and expiration dates for each member. Of course, since this information is in the Membership Profile you already created, selling each Member a Membership assigns expiration dates automatically.
To sell a Membership, go to the Members screen and either add a new member or select an existing member from the Search List. Once the new member information has been saved, or the existing member selected, click on the Sell Membership button. The Choose a Membership. A dialog box will appear showing all Memberships that you have created in the Memberships screen. To sell a Membership, double-click on the Membership you want to sell. If you do not see the Membership you want, scroll down with the scroll bar on the right side of the screen. Once you have selected the Membership to sell, click on Select. If you defined Payment Plans for your membership, the Choose a Payment Plan dialog box will appear. Select the payment plan you want by double-clicking on it or clicking on it and then click on Select. The next dialog box will indicate how much the Member owes at this time and how payment Is being taken. Club Sentry allows you to select your payment type and even split payments. To complete a transaction:
1. Enter the amount tendered in each payment type. For instance: On a purchase of $129.76, you could take $100 in cash and $29.76 on a credit card or put the entire amount under any payment type.
2. If you have selected either Credit Card or Debit Card, the Credit Card Transaction screen will come up
3. If you are using Club Sentry for credit card transactions you can either swipe the credit card with our Credit Card reader to automatically complete the sale, or enter the information manually and click Get Approval. Once the transaction has been approved, you will receive a confirmation and 2 copies of the receipt will print to your designated receipt printer (see Printer Options in the help files).
4. If you use an external credit card terminal, you may enter the authorization information manually and click on Continue. This will prompt 2 copies of the receipt to print to your designated receipt printer.
If this is the first Membership this Member has purchased, it will automatically be set as their Primary Membership. The Primary Membership is the Membership the Member will check-in under automatically. If they have existing Memberships, you will see a dialog box asking if you want to make the new membership the Primary Membership. If you want to change the Primary Membership to the new Membership, click Yes. To keep the original Membership as Primary, click No.
